Google+: The Verdict

Well finally I have been accepted into the small number of testers for Google+. I feel like I am one of the cool kids now! I didn’t know what to expect with Google+, was it to be over complicated? Or over simplified? Would I immediately love or hate it? Well enough with the questions and lets get into the review.

Alright so before you even think about logging in I would reccomend taking a tour of the place so you know how and what everything does! Okay so logging in is easy if you have an account linked with Gmail (I have my Live account connected), if not Gmail is easy to set up and works really well on any mobile device. Anyways, once you log in you are now open to all the new features Google+ has to provide. The first is Sparks:

What sparks does is that it takes what you like, and then it searches the internet for articles and news on the subject. It will come up the latest info on that subject. Say I clicked on my spark FC Dallas this is what would come up:

Great stuff huh? You can either search your favorite subjects, or select from popular Sparks.

The next feature is the circles feature, this is one that I personally love. You can group together people like your family, friends, people who you follow, and also you can create other personalized groups. This is what my circles look like currently:

You see, here I made the circle Youtubers for all the Youtube people that I watch. Adding people is as easy as it can get, first drag whoever it may be into the circle and now they are in that circle, and its the same concept if you want to move someone to another circle. Removing people is exactly the same as well, just drag them out of the circle and presto, they are gone. When posting something you can click to send to all circles or if it’s your hearts desire just one or two of them.

But what really makes Google+ special is its hangout feature, this is the feature that makes this it so special! Let me show you a quick screen shot before I continue:

So if you see your friends are online and you want to talk to group if them (up to 6 I believe to chat room) you can just start a hangout and those group of friends can just jump into your hangout and start talking, planned or unplanned Hangouts I am sure will provide for hours and hours of fun. This is beyond the Facebook video chat, with this hangout feature you can watch and share Youtube videos with your friends directly in the Hangout window. Hangout can sense who is talking and will switch the main screen to whoever is talking its almost as if you are really there hanging out with your friends.

Needless to say, Google+ is definitely a GREAT competitor to Facebook, and I’m excited where things will go. Hope all of you will have as much fun with Google+ as i did.

See you next time,

Oh and also if you have an idea for an review just let me know, and I will get to it as soon as I can.
